Libraries are the temple of Knowledge. For any city - as big as Indore - it must have an ability to serve knowledge to its citizen. Unfortunately (and this is really my personal opinion), Indore does lack in that. Sure there are lot of good colleges, book stores and shops but not very good sophisticated Libraries. Here is a list of few good libraries of Indore. Some of them are public, some private and some need a membership. The first name for a good big library is the DAVV Library. The Central library at the Devi Ahilya University campus. The library is open to all on membership - which is not too much. DAVV Central library has 2 venues: 1. DAVV Takshshila Campus, Khandwa Road, Near Bhawarkua, Indore. 2. DAVV RNT Marg, Indore. Holkar College Library Holkar College, Bhawarkua, Indore. For visitors who want to spend some quality time reading, Hotel Shreemaya on RNT road has a complimentary library. IBS Library Indore, 122, Pragati Nagar, ICFAI Jai Singh Palace Near Pipliya Pala, Indore, MP, 452001, India IIMI Library is the library of IIM Indore. The GSITS Central Library at the Govindram Sakseria Institute of Technology and Science near Nehru Park, was established in 1955 with a small collection of 429 books. Currently it earns the status of the biggest college library in central India in the field of technology and science education. It is full flagged with good quality of high cost standard reference and text - books, world reputed International and National research journals. Here is the link to Online Library at GSITS, Indore. CAT (Center for Advanced Technologies) Library Pioneer Institute of Management and Science has developed a specialized library with around 12000 books on the selves, around 60 journals including foreign journals and also a large number of news papers and magazines. The library also has Video Audio cassette and CDs for the benefit of students. The library is well equipped, specious and is open to all faculties, students, and researchers and corporate. Various books exhibitions are organized from time to time to facilitate the demands of the students. Then there are some private Libaries like: Avinash Library Lg-1, Colony, Khajrana Road, Shri Nagar, Indore- 452001 The Book County Library run by Mr Dipesh +(91)-(731)-3916945 +(91)-9993575804 Shop No 72, Opp Corporation Bank, Curewell Hospital Road, New Palasia, Indore - 452001 Sity Library in Sukhlia Area which is managed by Mr Jay Khandelwal +(91)-(731)-4208064 , 2550962 +(91)-9993537011 This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Ah 42 Mr 10, Sukliya Bapat Chouraha, Indore Ho, Indore - 452001 Mahadevi Library is another free library. And though its not a great place, there is a good, free public library at the Regal Square - Mahatma Gandhi Public Library. Also some of the other quick reading place include the book shop at the Dhakkanwala Kua. Another one is Rupayana near JMB on the MG Road. If you have any information about any other library in Indore, Please feel free to let us know and we will be glad to add it here. Trackback(0)
