Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee has issued her second rail budget in parliament on Wednesday. Like previous year, Rail fare has not been increased this year, too. Rs.100/- a wagon have been slashed from the freight of edibles, kerosene and some other stuff . 54 new trains have been declared, which include 10 Duranto trains. One Duranto train has been awarded to Indore for direct, non-stop journey from Indore to Mumbai, which is really a favour to Indorians. The minister has also assured that the economical and social issues will be duly addressed in the projections. A quite ambitious projection to connect whole of the country through railway in next five years has also been proposed. The budget has been planned to provide some relax from the growing price hike everywhere else. Service charges on e-ticket booking have been reduced to Rs.10 and 20 from Rs.15 & 40. Other benefits to Indore include: Kolkata- Ajmer express via Singroli, Katni, Bhopal, Nagda, Ratlam (Weekly), Ajmer Indore Link Express (Daily), Kanpur Chitrakoot express (Daily), Habibganj Jabalpur Intercity Express (Daily), Gwalior Chindwara Express (twice a week), Puri Walsad express via Katni, Bhopal, Baroda (weekly) are among the proposals.
