Well, Not yet. But the word on the street is that it can happen anytime soon. Swetambar Jain Muni Panyas Pravar Sri VeerRatn Ji Maharaj has asked the Jain Youth Council and Swetambar Jain sangh to consider this during their next meeting: To ban girls and women from wearing Jeans-tops in the jain temples. If the group representatives agree, then this rule will be declared on 21st June probably. This is not the first time that Veerratn Ji has talked about this. He got a lot of positive response for the same agenda in Ujjain city. According to Maharaj sri, the reason for this ban is to limit the show-off of both body and money. It should be close to our culture and the western dressing is not the most elegant as per the rules he talks about. What is your opinion on this? Do you think that Jeans Tops should be banned in Jain temples? Why is it only with women that they are banning the jean. Should Men still be allowed to wear jeans? Moreover, Its a pity that men can not control themselves, and a ban like this will make women suffer rather than punishing the men for their misbehaviour.
