This senior citizen, and a generous social worker of Indore city, Shri Babulal Baheti is turning 90 this year. A respect ceremony is being organized to acknowledge his liberal contribution to the city. “This city gave me name and fame and that is what I’m trying to return to it in form of social activities.” Says Mr. Baheti. His story in his own words:

I completed Matric level education living with my aunt here and there after completed graduation from a hostel. I studied law with intention to become a lawyer but did not like the job and became a Civil Supply Inspector in stead. I was earning Rs.165 from this job but was not happy here too. I opened a drapery in the name of Babulal Prahlad Das in Cloth Market of the city. I got married at 18 and life changed here onwards. I got associated with many trusts and associations like Vaishnav Trust, Geetabhawan Trust and many more. And the city named me Babulal Baheti from a mere Babu. I have earned all my name and fame from Indore only and am trying to return its dues in the form of all possible social causes that I can help. I do not reckon my works as ‘Services’ as I could never have done this without help of family, merchants, society and Indore itself.
