The 37 years old Victory Bat, towering out of Zoo park has been devastated to dust on Sunday at 11.15. It took two hours to set the Pokland machine and lose its foundation. Mr. Anil Bindal of MIC informed that it took no effort to demolish the monument. A replica of this victory monument has been erected in Nehru Stadium. Names of all the vetern players were inscribed on this new Bat on Sunday. The new monument will be granted to public in a ceremony on 1st October.

The old Victory Bat had steps to get in and stair up to it. At the time of its inauguration ceremony Mr. Wadekar, the vetern Cricket player, had used these stairs to reach upto the handle of the bat for garland ceremony.
