Due to link fail from its head-office in Mumbai, the railway reservation system of Western Railway failed on all stations in western part, including Ratlam centre and could not be repaired until 10 at night, i.e. by the time of closing reservation counters. No reservation could be done during this time. Manual arrangements were made on platform no.1 for those who wanted to cancel their tickets.

Western Railway has its server installed in its head office at Mumbai. The link failed in the noon at 3pm approx and the Ratlam centre got disconnected. This was a majour fault which discontinued the reservation system in the centre. Passengers were seen making inquiries on Indore main Railway Station, Vijay Nagar and Rajendra Nagar Station. Telephone service 139 was also fully disrupted. Manual arrangements have been made for those who want to cancel their railway tickets, on platform no.1 at Indore railway station. No reservation or any other work could be carried out on any of the stations viz. Rajendra Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Mhow, Shujalapur, Bairagar, Sihore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Dahod, Chittorgad, Dhar, Badwani, Khargone, and others.
