In M.P. and C.G. services to approx 13 lakh mobiles including 3 lakhs from Indore will be discontinued after today. These are the mobiles whose IMI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is not registered. This measure is being taken for security reasons. All such mobiles will cease to work after 12 in midnight today. As per mobile companies record there are more than 13 lakh such consumers in MP-CG, 3 Lakh of which are in Indore and nearby locations. Mobiles companies are regularly warning these consumers through SMSs. Some consumers’ IMI numbers are getting problem in registration, though. As per AirTel’s Public Relation Department, company had more than 3 lakh such consumers in MP and CG, 1 lakh of which have got their IMI numbers registered. We are continuously informing the remaining consumers, too. As per information from DOCOMO they do not have many consumers in this range. However, whatever they are, they are being informed through SMSs to get their IMI numbers registered.
