In order to make its citizens aware of traffic rules, the Indore Traffic Police has launched its own website on the first day of New Year 2010. And, believe it or not, this is going to be the first Traffic Police of the country to receive international level of training.

Indore Traffic Police has also tightened its belt to ride with the high-tech society in Indore. The website has been launched to provide traffic information on a single click to users. With the start of Road Safety Week, SP Makrand Deuskar and D. Shrinivas Verma and launched this website www.indoretrafficpolice.org . The website contains full information on traffic signs, working style of traffic police and safe lane driving is also been explained through proper animation. In next few days traffic police officials will visit local schools to teach students about this website and its benefits. Mr. Deuskar informed that a n e-challan facility is also being launched within next 10 days. Discussions are going on with treasury department then after people will not have to go anywhere to pay their traffic challans. The wonderful thing is that the traffic police has not to spend a single buck on getting this site ready.

Congratulations for this proactive and innovative step which will definitely help in bringing the police closer to public.
Some suggestions :
1. Spelling of 'Speed Breaker' written in two different ways.
2. The menu 'Obey Speed Limits' does not open
3. Under the menu 'Know Traffic Rules', five sub-menus appear, but only the first one is working.
4. Under the menu 'Accident Prone Areas of Indore' and 'Accident and Challan Report', the same sub-menus appear which appear with the 'General Information'.
5. There is no email-id under the menu ‘Contact Us’ and the ‘Submit’ buttons of the ‘Feedback Form’ and ‘General Complaint’ menus are not working
Lastly, I suggest that if a single mobile number is displayed for redressal for allegations of malpractices, this would make the site more transparent. Thanks.
