419 candidates had withdrawn their names by Monday and 476 are set to fight elections. Congress and BJP will have intense tussle in ward 32, 39 and 58. Ridiculously, there are 17 candidates ready to run the in the race in ward 42. There are more than 12 wards having more than 10 contestants in each. None of the candidates has withdrawn name in ward 69. Total 37 candidates had filled their nomination for the position of the Mayor of Indore, 13 of which were from Congress party. 12 of these candidates have withdrawn their names after confirmation of Pankaj Sanghavi’s candidacy for the post. There are still 22 candidates fighting for the Mayor’s position. 8 of these candidates belong to different political parties while 14 are fighting as sole candidate. Candidates from different political parties are Krishna Murari Moghe from BJP, Nasir Khan from Janta Dal, Nirmal Dubey from Nationalist Congress Party, Pankaj Sanghavi from Indian National Congress, Mukesh Banglewala from Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Ramsamujh Yadav from Samajwadi Party, Gajendra Singh Gaud from Bhartiya Vikas Party and G. D. Maheshwari from Jan Shakti. The other fourteen sole candidates are Ajay Yadav from Aazad Nagar, Abhinay Jain from Peer Gali, Ismail Khan from North Musakhedi, Girija Shankar Ramanwal from Nehru Nagar, Ghanshyam Chandel from Lalaram Nagar, Tejendra Singh Bhatia from Roshan Singh Bhandari Marg, Parmanand Tolani from Jayshree Syndicate Colony, Prakash Verma from Nayi Jeevan Ki Fel, Manohar Morya from Dev Nagar, Rama Kumari Panchal from Vijay Nagar, Radheshyam from Police Line Vijay Nagar, Rambahadur Morya from Vijay Nagar, Sanjay Pathak from Vishvakarma Nagar and Sanjay Bindal from HIG Colony.
