| Indore Gets CNG Taxies now |

CNG fuelled taxies will be running on roads of Indore soon. The traffic department has called proposals for it. The taxies will be having electronic meters and fare will be charged as per government decided rates. Electric meters will also be installed in existing CNG taxies. RTO Dinesh Kumar informed that this decision has been taken in a recent meeting of road safety committee. Any one who owns at least 100 such vehicles can apply within 15 days in regional traffic control office. The vehicles should be equipped with GPS system and painted in eco-friendly colours. The applicant should have own technically sound control room, parking space and trained and licensed drivers. Indore Taxi drivers association has opposed this proposal, though.
