In order to fortify the city security system, Indore police is planning to install 400 secret cameras at 100 different places in the city. The whole project is going to cost 18 Cr. On Friday, 5 companies presented demonstrations of 4 of such types of cameras.

Indore SSP Mr. Vipin Maheshwari informed that after a thorough survey of whole city police has identified 100 such places where these 400 cameras can be deployed. Besides a City Surveillance Committee has been formed to find out and consider other such prospective spots. Representatives of 5 different companies presented a demonstration before committee president I.G. STF Mathili Sharan Gupta, Member IG Sanjay Rana, SSP Vipin Maheshwari, DSP Crime Jitendra Singh and DSP Traffic Anjana Tiwari.

Infrared cameras to be procured: Mr. Maheshwari informed that these cameras would include Infrared (IR), DOM cameras, license plate reorganization (LPR) and high speed cameras. IR cameras are capable of recording in dark hours too, while through LPR cameras we can take snaps of vehicles’ number plates. These would be used to improve traffic system and to keep watch against any anti social activities in busy places.
Camera Presentation offered: Representatives of Center for Development of Advance Computing of Keral, Hindustan Computers Limited, Digitech, Techno Intelligent Solutions and Denisco’s representatives presented live demonstrations of the cameras before all the officials.
