One of the phases of the Ratlam-Khandwa-Akola Broadgauge rail line project is the Paatalpani Balwada rail line. It seems to be very expensive project for the Railways. This section of the rail road is going to be 52 km long and will take approximately 380 crore Rs. to build it. The Ratlam Akola Railway project is a total of 475 Km long rail road which is going to cost 1421 Crore INR. (1 crore= 10000000 Rs.) The reason for Paatalpani section to be much costlier is the terrain in that area. Its a complex section and new route is longer that it will involve more than 27% ot total spendings. Paatalpani-Mukhtyara Balwada section is planned for the second phase of the project. First section will be Ratlam-Mhow broadgauge section, which is already started. After the monsoon bridger and line foundation work will start. In last year's rail budget (8-09) Railway ministry granted 32 crore rs. for the Ratlam - Akola project. Sumitra Mahajan is worried about the Ujjain-Fatehabad section not being included in Ratlam-Akola project. she has even written to Central Rail Minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav about it. If this sections is included it will be a great help in terms of Money (fare) and time for all the passengers on Indore Ujjain route. Trackback(0)
