Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Sinh Chauhan demanded the officials to revisit the issues with the Indore IT (information technology) Park, and the Diamond Park. These business parks have been developed and completed for years now, but still not able to sustain and help businesses grow. The aim for the IT park is to provide a place for new IT businesses to grow, and to establish more IT companies in Indore and create new jobs in Indore. Similarly, the Diamond Park is to address the need of Diamond import-export business, Diamond cutting, polishing and jewllery businesses in Madhya Pradesh. Both of these parts are ready but no one is taking possession, or starting their offices here. Officials blam global economic slowdonw as the cause for this. These 2 assets of MP/Indore government are neither generating any revenue for them, nor solving the purpose for which they were developed. CM Shivraj Chauhan demanded Officials to discuss with NASSCOM and other specialists in the IT Parks/SEZ establishment and plan for the next steps within a months time. Indore IT Park is located at Khandwa Road Indore, near Aasharam Bapu Square. Its build in approx. 550000 Sq. foot with 16 acres of land. The total cost of this project was estimated to be 61.91 crore Rs., but Government spent about 85.85 crores. Zoom Developers also tried to buyout the Park, but did not deposit full amount.
