Travelling in Indore is going to be easy...and FUN!!

In the next one year, two new facilities for City bus and Metro taxi passenger are going to be implemented in Indore. One more gem in the crown of our city....read on...

1.Automatic Fair Collection.(AFC)

2.Intelligent Transport System(ITS)

Automatic fair collection will replace the ticket system of City Buses. The new Ticket system will be a debit card , just recharge when expired. No tension to take ticket again and again. In second scheme , traffic signal will manage, it will be situated at AB Road BRTS corridors. This signal will give indication to special LAN Vehicles such as City Buses and Metro Taxi. One of the company Atal Inodre city Transport Pvt. Ltd , started work on this project, Estimated cost is 44 crores for this project. It would be implemented in 2009.

These kinds of systems are already in place in all the major cities of the world, that have reliable public transportation. London has a Travelcard for the Tube and Buses, Boston has a CharlieCard for the T and Buses, NewYork has MetroCard and so on. Indore will be one of these high-tech cities in terms of Public transportation services once this system is implemented. (ofcourse not at par in speed, cleanliness and reliability though..but we will be there soon.)

 
Detail report will be completed by 30 April , 2008 for Both the schemes. It could be completed on estimation of world bank. The team will be in Indore on 7-8 April 2008 . According to AICTSL CEO Chandramouli Shukl, that in AFC , all vehicle related to public transport such as all root city buses and Metro taxi are paid by single rechargeable prepaid card. ITC project rename by Traffic Information Management & Control Centre( TIMCC) .

BENEFITS

1. AFC system will remove ticket system. No tension of change.

2. 200,500,1000 RS cards will available for buying/recharge.

3. Card could be use for other purpose also such as eating, shopping.

4. One machine will be attached, just have to touch the card on it, no need to swipe.

5. After start TMCC ,special LAN city buses & Metro Taxi  have to wait just a little instead of long time on Traffic signal.
