| Delhi - Mumbai Corridor: Investments in Indore and Dhar |
Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor is not a dream any more. The planning is in progress at a fast pace, and this one is set to turn around Indore's future too.The 1483 km Delhi-Mumbai corridor project has names of 10 districts, including our Indore. A knowledge city near Ujjain is also part of the plan. The corridor will have various investment-sector each of 200 sq. km each. This will benefit 7 states with its 6 mega investment sectors. Part of the plan is to connect Indore Airport and Pithampur. As of now, the plan has Indore airport area covered in the corridor. Probably not a real futuristic plan, as it can have impact in future as Indore grows bigger, and the Airport grows along with it. As part of this corridor, an Industrial area will be developed on each side of the road between Indore and Pithampur. The industries include BRT Terminal, IT companies, Pharmaceuticals etc. If these buildings are built near the airport, there is a risk to landing and taking-off planes. As per the regulations, airport area should not have high-rise buildings, but this corridor being so close to the airport funnel area can be risky. Not only that, it can impact Indore Airport expansion plans to be an International Airport. This industrial corridor will open new avenues for investment, growth and prosperity for Indore including other 10 districts of MP. Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlma, Jhabua, Dhar, Dewas, Indore, Ujjain, Rajgardh, Shajapur are also part of the plan. Please share your comments and views about this Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor in Indore.
