| BJP Indore National Council Meeting |
| Information | |||
As Indore gets ready for the BJP National Council Meeting that is going to be held in February, many things are getting interesting.First of all, many big hotels and corporate-guest houses of Indore who were happy looking at the upcoming busy season, are now worried after BJP leader and Party President Nitin Gadkari asked the BJP leaders to stay in Tents instead of the five star hotels.In his own words, Nitin Gadkari said that “Deendayal Upadhyay and his philosophy of reaching out to the last man in the queue would be the roadmap for every party leader." A total of approximately 5000 delegates are expected for the BJP 's national council in Indore. These 5000 BJP delegates will stay in tents during this executive meet in Indore which starts on February 17th and will go on for three days, till 19th Feb 2010. BJP delegates, including senior leaders would stay in tents during the national executive meet. Advani, and other senior leaders also agreed to this decision. This is not a new thing to happen. Even in the past, this has happened since the days of Bharatiya Jan Sangh. Even during the last meetings in Mumbai in 1980, 95, 2005 party members stayed in tents. Whatever it does to the BJP leaders, for Indore economics, it sure is a little shock. "Jor Ka Jhatka Dheere se Lage". You can imagine if 5000 leaders were to stay in Indore hotels like Sayaji, Sarovar Portico, Sreemaya Residency, Crown Palace, Fortune Landmark and others, it would have brought a huge sum of Money to Indore's hotels. Now one thing that could be the good side of the coin is that when these leaders will be saving money on hotel, they will visit the Indore city malls and spend money on Indore food, clothing and entertainment. Whatever it may be, the BJP National Council and Executive Meeting in Indore in February is going to bring lots of fun to Indore.One Important point that BJP leaders may not have considered yet is the increasing cases of Swine Flu in Indore. Though the tents that BJP will be using will have good hygiene and beds, the sheer thought of having 5000 people staying in tent, sharing toilets, in a city where swine flu is on its rise makes it look like a stupid decision.May be its just me, or my fear of communicable diseases that i would not skip the BJP executive council meeting instead of staying under tent in freezing Indore winter (specially February) and scare myself of touching the towel or the doorknob.
