| Dengu Expanding as Epidemic in Indore |
| Health Services | |||
|
This deadly epidemic is spreading rapidly and taking its toll on citizens in a very drastic manner. Today, one in every five houses has a Dengu patient. People are running posts to pillar to arrange blood for their kith an kins. The families with more than one Dengu patient are suffering most. People are forced to arrange for and pay exorbitant hospital bills anyhow to save their loved ones at any cost. Each of 150 hospitals in the city is receiving, on an average, 4 Dengu patients everyday. It means 400 Dengu patients everyday in all the hospitals. More or less 150 of these patients need blood for platelets. But, blood is not easily available to them. People line-up out of blood banks over nights, but there is no movement to improve this situation from Health Department so far. Many people have died of the disease who are not on department’s roll. As per the Health Department there should be only 8 patients of Dengu in the city. Trackback(0)
