Last year has passed away Indore. New Year is here. There are new dreams, new hopes, new goals for everyone, everything, everywhere. Indore is also expecting a lot of developments in basic amenities and facilities in this New Year. Here is what people are looking for in Indore this year:

Multilevel Parking - Traffic and parking have remained the buzzing problem in the city last year. Jams were the common scenes in the streets and people were all found running miles to locate proper parking for their vehicles in the city. Citizens want a multilevel parking premise in the city. A fund of Rs.74 Crore has been sanctioned for multilevel parking in Indore and seven different places had been marked for the construction of multilevel parking but it is still on papers only and no parking facility could be provided to the citizens except one at Subhash Chowk.

Multi-culture Centre - City is growing in every manner but artists are still struggling to find a stage to show their arts and skills. Visiting artists do not find a place to stay in the city. The artistic community is eagerly waiting for a multi-culture centre with all such facilities. Recently the Chief Minister had announced this facility in Indore and a Kala-sankul has been approved for Indore but the city administration is providing a land out of the city range which will not serve the purpose.

BRTS Project - As per engineer Dilip Kavthekar BRTS is the largest civil project of Indore. Streets have been dug through out the city, calling for an early completion of the project. It is a must for IMC to complete this project in 2010 which will also solve traffic problems upto a great extent and Indore will again get speed. BRTS construction from Niranjanpur to Rajiv Gandhi Statue was to be completed by September 2009 but it is not done yet. It is a challenge for Indore administration to complete this 131 Crore project this year, because it has already cost a loss of lakhs of rupees so far.

MR-9 Project: This project must be finished in 2010. As per the Chief Project Manager S. S. Rana, people are facing many problems due to incompletion of this project. Completion of this project will spare people from taking a long rout via Ring-road. There will be a direct link from Anoop Talkies and 15-20 meters wide road, water line, lights will solve a lot of problems.

Haat Bazar: Local and visiting handicraft artists and artisans are also waiting for a cultural centre wherein they can exhibit their things through out the year and earn some business too. An artisan Mohammad Eusuf says that a Haat Bazzar similar to that in Delhi should be provided in Indore, too. A large part, as much as 40%, has been completed and is expected to finish in 2010.

Narmada 3rd Phase - This of the major city projects was to be completed by March 2009 only. As per Ex City Architect Narendra Surana, looking at the water crisis that Indore faces in summers, it is the most important project for the city. It is not projected to be finished by March 2010 now. But this schedule will also require a speedy work.
